>> Tech won last year’s meeting in the ACC Tournament, but the teams did not meet in the regular season for the first time since 1973. >> Sophomore OF Keenan Innis is hitting a team-best .343 (12-for-35) over Tech’s last 10 games, bumping his season average to .333 (17th in the ACC). Five of Innis’ last 12 games have been multi-hit efforts. Senior CF Daniel Spingola is a career .353 (6-for-17) hitter versus the Tigers in four previous starts.

>> Tech enters the weekend No. 26 in the RPI and owns a strength of schedule ranked No. 11. Of Tech’s 24 wins, 14 have comes versus teams 100 or better in the RPI. The Jackets’ RPI is fourth-best in the ACC behind Miami, FSU and Louisville.

>> Tech is outscoring opponents 60-24 over the final two innings plus extras. That includes a +26 margin in the eighth (37-11), +9 in the ninth (20-11) and +1 (3-2) in extra innings. 12 of Tech’s 24 wins are come-from-behind victories, including four when trailing in the eighth inning.

>> Sophomore C Arden Pabst is among the NCAA leaders in runners caught stealing and caught-stealing percentage. Pabst, who is on the watch list for the Johnny Bench Award, has thrown out 18 would-be base stealers this season, which are tied for fifth-most nationally. His caught-stealing percentage of .439 ranks 12th in the NCAA.

>> The Jackets have benefited from strong late-game work from sophomore right-handers Zac Ryan and Matthew Gorst. Ryan is already 5-1 with seven saves and a team-leading ERA of 2.70. Ryan is among the ACC leaders in wins, saves and appearances. Gorst has three wins and a save. Against the ACC, he’s 3-1 with a 1.96 ERA versus the ACC.

>> Tech is 17-2 this season when scoring first; 8-3 in one-run games; 7-7 versus ranked team. Sophomore RHP Brandon Gold is 4-0 in series rubber-games — all coming in ACC victories over Notre Dame, Duke, Virginia Tech and Virginia. As a team, the Jackets are 6-1 this season in weekend rubber-games (4-1 in ACC play).

>> Danny Hall is in his 22nd season as Tech’s head coach (28th overall), and his last four seasons on the Flats have resulted in two ACC tournament titles (2012, 2014) and an ACC regular-season crown (2011). Hall is a two-time ACC Coach of the Year and is among the 15 winningest active coaches in college baseball with 1,123 wins.
