Jackets Close Out Tennessee Relays

Tennessee Relays Results 

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Georgia Tech track and field capped off the Tennessee Relays on Saturday. The Jackets return home April 21-22 for the Georgia Tech Invitational at the George C. Griffin Track.

“We had a good day two of the Tennessee Relays under much better weather conditions,” said men’s track and field head coach Grover Hinsdale. “I like how the schedule is set up in that we are off from competition next weekend before being home the following weekend. We will get back to work this week and get ready to put up some great performances at the Georgia Tech Invitational.”

Lionel Jones, Andres Littig, Benjamin Jean and Bennett Hillier took fifth in the men’s 4×400 in the closing event of the day. The squad posted a time of 3:13.95.

The men’s 4×100 team of Zachary Gunnz, Tyson Spears, Maurice Simpson and Andreas Ward took sixth with a time of 41.21. Hillier, Eamon McCoy, Frank Pittman and John Lyons followed with a sixth-place finish in the 4×800 with a time of 7:38.52. Preston Smith took fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 15.00m.

The women started the day with a sixth-place finish in the women’s distance medley relay. The team of Mary Claire Solomon, Angelica Henderson, Lindsey Wheeler and Hailey Gollnick clocked in a time of 12:17.06. The 4×800 relay team of Charlotte Stephens, Haley Anderson, Amy Ruiz and Brittany Powell took fifth with a time of 9:00.79.
