2019 Track:
Indoor: Appeared at five meets… competed in the 60m, 200m and long jump… set a PR in the long jump at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 7.36m… ran fastest 200m of the season in 22.04 and fastest 60m time of the season in 6.91 at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational. Outdoor: Competed at seven meets… finished fifth and set a PR in the long jump with a mark of 7.50m at the ACC Championships… helped lead the 4×100 group to a first place finish with a time of 40.17 at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial…also finished fourth in the 100m (10.74) and fifth in the 200m (21.51).
2018 Track:
Indoor: Turned in a season-best mark of 6.97 to finish 23rd at the Tiger Paw Invitational … posted a season-best 200m time of 21.82 at the Charlie Thomas Invitational to finish 14th … ran a 36.80 in his lone 300m event of the year at Orange & Purple Invitational to finish 17th … finished in the top 20 in both the 60m (6.88) and 200 (22.04) at the ACC Championships. Outdoor: Recorded a season-best wind-legal 100m at the Georgia Tech Invite, turning in a time of 10.70 for seventh place … ran a 10.55 wind-aided 100m at the Tiger Track Classic to finish 16th … ran a 10.81 at ACC Championships … turned in a season-best wind-legal time of 21.73 at the North Florida Invitational to finish sixth while also posting a wind-aided mark of 21.34 (sixth) at the Georgia Tech Invite … helped the 4×100 relay group to a third-place finish (40.67) at the North Florida Invitational.
2017 Track:
Indoor: Turned in a career-best time of 6.78 to finish ninth in the 60m dash prelims at the ACC Indoor Championships … also recorded a 60m dash prelim time of 6.84 at the Meyo Invitational … competed three times in the 200m dash with a season-best time of 21.46 (ninth) coming at the ACC Indoor Championships … also ran a 21.78 200m dash at the Meyo Invitational … competed in one long jump event all year at the Music City Challenge … turned in a leap of 6.92 meters. Outdoor: Spears had an impressive first year on The Flats … qualified and finished ninth (10.70) in the 100m dash at the USTF 2017 Junior Outdoor Championships – one of only three Jackets to compete in the event … earned his way into the field by posting a career-best 100m time of 10.45 at the Tom Jones Memorial … named ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week after his debut where he posted a first-place time of 10.56 in the 100m dash … also ran a career-best time of 21.45 in the 200m dash at the Georgia Tech Invitational.
