@GTWBB Welcomes Berenato to Staff

Oct. 22, 2015

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s basketball head coach MaChelle Joseph has announced that Brock Berenato has joined the Yellow Jackets’ staff as the director of video and player personnel.

“I am very excited to have Brock on our women’s basketball staff ,” Joseph said. “His work ethic and knowledge of his job is unequalled. I have been very impressed with his ability to step in and impact our program from day one.”

Berenato, who is distantly related to former head coach Agnus Berenato, comes to the Flats from VCU where he was hired as the video coordinator for women’s basketball in June 2015.

“The opportunity to work at Georgia Tech means the world to me,”  Berenato said. “I cannot truly put into words how excited I am to be able to contribute to such a prolific program.”

He was no stranger to the Rams after serving as the graduate manager during the 2014-15 season, where he assisted with film. Berenato received a M. Ed. Degree in sport leadership in 2015 from VCU. He was awarded the Center for Sport Leadership at VCU “Student of the Year” which honors one full-time student who demonstrated enthusiastic commitment, leadership qualities, and academic excellence.

Berenato attended Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and graduated with a B.A. in sports communication in 2014. Berenato was also involved with women’s basketball as an undergrad, assisting the team as an undergraduate manager from 2012-14. He was a seven time Dean’s list member at Bradley.

The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team opens up the 13th season under head coach  on Monday, Nov. 2 with an exhibition contest against West Georgia at 7 p.m. at McCamish Pavilion. Tickets can be purchased online, by calling the 888-TECH-TIX or by visiting the ticket office at 150 Bobby Dodd Way.
