Head Coach MaChelle Joseph

On her 100th career victory
“Georgia Tech is a great place and I just feel fortunate to work with these young women that I have had. They are phenomenal to me, not only as great athletes but as the type of students they are. The challenges they take on academically every day really amazes me. I think this is why the program is going in the direction it is going. I also could not do this without the great assistant coaches I have had. It is a great feeling to share this will all these people and I look forward to the next hundred.”

On the team’s change from the first half to the second half
“I feel we just willed our way to a win today. We were not shooting well, were not taking care of the basketball. I thought we had a lack of concentration out there but we were able to get it done with some hustle points. Sasha (Goodlett) got a few offensive putbacks and Jacqua (Williams) came out of the locker room and really played like the way Jacqua plays. I feel that when Jacqua is playing the way she did on the defensive end good things happen for us.”

On what her team will take from this game
“A win is a win, is a win. Anytime you hold an ACC team to 41 points, you are doing a good job, so I am proud of our defense. We are going take this one and now start preparing for our quick turnaround to go play at Wake Forest Tuesday. We have got to fix the turnovers. If we take better care of the basketball, good things are going to happen. “

On her thought of team’s position in the ACC
“We are about where we thought we would be. We are now 4-3 (in the ACC) and we got to get on a roll here. We will play one on the road and then we will be back home next weekend. I really like our position and we control our destiny.”
