Georgia Tech #ProJackets Baseball Report

Sept. 20, 2017

THE FLATS — With the Washington Nationals in town this week to take on the Atlanta Braves and his induction into the Georgia Tech Athletics Hall of Fame set for this Friday night at the College Football Hall of Fame, #ProJacket Matt Wieters stopped by The Flats for a quick visit before helping the National League East Division Champions defeat the Braves 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Looking to join Wieters in the MLB Playoffs this year is Charlie Blackmon, as he has the Colorado Rockies sitting 1.0 game ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers for the second wild card spot. Blackmon recorded his 200th hit of the season on Tuesday night to become just the eighth Rockies player in franchise history to reach that mark.

2⃣0⃣0⃣❗️

Charlie Blackmon’s 200th hit of the season is a big one, a 2-run double! What a milestone for @Chuck_Nazty! pic.twitter.com/l0FsxtErfr

Blackmon still leads the NL in hitting (.332), runs scored (131), hits (200), total bases (367), triples (14) and in runs created (149).

In the American League, Blake Wood in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are making a push for the second wild card spot, trailing the Minnesota Twins by 1.5 games with just over two and a half weeks left in the regular season.

Below is a complete list of the Baseball #ProJackets playing professionally this season.
