What a long day! We were scheduled to meet at 5:30 a.m. at Alexander Memorial Coliseum to load the bus and head over the Hartsfield-Jackson. After a quick trip, the team was through security and getting some food before our first flight to Miami. After landing, we all worked our way through the American Airlines terminal to get on an American Eagle plane that would take us to our destination.
With everyone on the flight, we took a bus from the terminal to the “little plane” section of the airport. The plane had propellers! Luckily the flight was very short and before we knew it, we had landed in the Bahamas.
After a quick trip through customs with a local band playing the background, we picked up the bags and headed to the buses. I thought the propeller plane was small, these buses are narrow and don’t fit a lot of people. The team headed out to practice, while I went with the luggage to the hotel.
This hotel is outstanding. It is on the beach, has three pools and has all the amenities we would need. When the team returned from practice, they relaxed for a bit and had dinner in the Bimini Buffet. With that said, check back tomorrow for an update on our trip.
