European Championship Day 1
After eight preparation games and several training camps we are finally here in Liepāja, Latvia for the European Championship.
The last couple weeks have been hectic, traveling to both Italy and Lithuania and we had our two last preparation games in Stockholm against our neighboring country Denmark. We had the last two days off so we could recover for the tournament which has an intense game schedule of eight games in ten days.
Today is the opening day of the championships. We had our morning practice in the arena and now we are back at the hotel. We have a couple of hours to kill before the opening ceremony and our first game against the host nation Latvia.
It’s going to be a challenge for us, the Latvians have the home-court advantage and they have several top European players. But this is what we have been preparing for all summer, the championship is finally here and we are more than ready. We have nothing to lose and there will be no better feeling than beating the host nation on their home court!!!
