Currier Joins Women’s Basketball Staff

THE FLATS – Caleb Currier has joined the Georgia Tech women’s basketball staff as director of recruiting operations, head coach Nell Fortner announced on Friday.

A native of Onida, South Dakota, Currier worked with the University of Tennessee women’s basketball program as a graduate assistant from 2019-2021. In his role, Currier developed, implemented and maintained recruiting strategies and databases to support the coaching staff in all recruiting operations. He also assisted with the organization of summer and on-campus recruiting operations. In addition to his recruiting efforts, he assisted in daily operations of the program including student managers oversight, alumni relations, equipment manager liaison and community outreach.

Currier joins the Yellow Jackets from the University of North Carolina where he served as a ticket office operations assistant since September 2021. While at UNC, he oversaw gameday ticket operations for women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, women’s basketball and baseball. Additionally, Currier assisted with men’s basketball and Olympic sports, while providing daily customer service to donors, season ticket holders, fans and students.

“It is an honor to join Coach Fortner and the Georgia Tech program,” Currier said. “Georgia Tech provides student-athletes with the incredible opportunity to receive a top-notch education while competing at the highest level. Coach Fortner is a proven winner on every level, and I believe in her vision here at Tech. I am excited to get to work on The Flats and to help provide a world-class experience for young women both on and off the court.”

A 2019 graduate at the University of Tennessee, Currier earned a bachelor of science in recreation and sport management with minors in business administration and communication studies. He continued his studies at Tennessee, earning a master of science in recreation and sport management in 2021. During his undergraduate education, Currier served as a student manager from 2016-19.
