The Yellow Jackets return seven letterwinners from last season’s squad, while adding six newcomers. Amongst Tech’s six newcomers are fifth-year transfers Sydney Johnson (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Caitlyn Wilson (Cordova, Tenn.).

Returning from last season are three starters in Kayla Blackshear (Orlando, Fla.), Kara Dunn (Dallas, Ga.) and Tonie Morgan (Tallahassee, Fla.). The team’s leading rebounder last season, Blackshear averaged 6.4 rebounds per game to secure a team-high 193 on the season. Morgan returns as the team’s leading scorer from last season, finishing second on the team after averaging 9.8 points per game. Morgan also led the Jackets in assists, dishing out 114 as a freshman.

A Division II member of the Peach Belt Conference, Georgia College & State University returns three of its top four offensive producers from last season. Alexa Geary led the Bobcats in scoring last season, scoring 11.1 points per game to help GCSU to a 15-14 overall record and 7-11 mark in conference play. GCSU is guided by fifth-year head coach Ross Jolly.

Thursday’s game will not be televised or live streamed on the internet. No radio broadcast is planned. Admission is free for spectators and parking will be available in the Family Housing Parking Deck (located on 10th St.) and the McCamish Pavilion Lot.

The Yellow Jackets officially tip-off the season on Monday, Nov. 6 at against Coastal Carolina. Tip is slated for 11 a.m. for its “Education Day” on the ACC Network Extra.
