GREENSBORO, N.C. – Morgan Jackson and Brandon Lasater of the Georgia Tech track and field team have been named to the 2014 All-ACC Academic Outdoor Track Team, announced today by ACC Commissioner John Swofford.
To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.
Lasater owns a 3.56 cumulative GPA in electrical engineering. The All-ACC Academic honor comes on the heels of being named a Capital One Academic All-America. On the track, Lasater is the 2014 ACC Indoor 800-meter champion and placed second in the event at the 2014 ACC Outdoor Championship. He also competed at the 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
Jackson, a biomedical engineering major, posted a 3.71 GPA during the 2014 spring semester and maintains a 3.56 cumulative GPA. Jackson, who was also named to the indoor 2014 All-ACC Academic team, set personal-bests in the 800 meters (2:11.39) and the 1500 meters (4:26.30).
Jackson is currently completing a research internship in Switzerland at the University of Lausanne where she is analyzing the motion of Olympic ski jumpers and dancers.
