Trapani Named ACC Baseball Player of the Week

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech second baseman Mike Trapani was named Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week after leading the Yellow Jackets to a three-game sweep at No. 5 Florida State.

Trapani hit .615 to lead Georgia Tech to a perfect 4-0 record with all four games coming on the road at Georgia State and Florida State.

The senior second baseman was 8-for-13 with six RBI and six runs scored on the week. He also walked three times en route to posting a .706 on-base percentage. Trapani was perfect in 20 fielding chances.

In the weekend series vs. Florida State, the Dunwoody, Ga., native went 6-for-11 at the plate while reaching base safely in 9 of 14 plate appearances. Trapani registered six runs, four RBI and two walks against the Seminoles.

For the season, Trapani is batting .328 with 32 RBI.
