The Jackets Take on Kennesaw State Wednesday

Dec. 6, 2006

Atlanta – Tech tips off against the Lady Owls of Kennesaw State at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Alexander Memorial Coliseum in the second game of a three-game home stand.

The Jackets are coming off their first home loss of the season falling 69-79 to in-state rival Georgia. Junior co-captain Janie Mitchell notched 26 points and eight rebounds in Sunday’s loss. Her 17.7 PPG is fourth best in the Atlantic Coast Conference while her 8.2 RPG ranks among the top ten in the league.

Mitchell and the Jackets will face a 3-and-3 Kennesaw State squad that is coming off a four-point win over Mercer, who Tech defeated by 39 in the season opener.

This will be the second time in program history Tech has faced nearby Kennesaw State and the first meeting in the Thrillerdome. The last meeting, at 68-55 Tech win, was on Nov. 26, 1982.

Tickets for Wednesday’s game can be purchased at the door and are $4 for adults and $2 for children and senior citizens. Doors open at 6 p.m.
