Presented by Georgia Power, Andy Demetra catches up with junior golfer Ross Steelman (center in photo below), preparing to play in his first U.S. Amateur next week in Oakmont, Pa. Steelman, a transfer from the University of Missouri who was ranked No. 28 nationally at the end of last spring, shot rounds of 66-66 to win medalist honors at the U.S. Amateur qualifier in Rome, Ga. The Columbia, Mo., native and talks about prepping for the Amateur and how he decided to join the Yellow Jackets.
The last two U.S. Amateur champions have come from Georgia Tech – Andy Ogletree in 2019 and Tyler Strafaci in 2020.
