THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (15-9, 2-1 ACC) will host No. 13 Virginia Tech (19-5, 5-1 ACC) for its second ACC series of the season and first on The Flats. The Yellow Jackets are slated to battle the Hokies in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., followed by the series finale at 1 p.m. on Sunday, all at Mewborn Field.

Parking will be available in the Family Housing deck on Friday and Saturday. For Sunday, the McCamish lot as well as the Family Housing deck will be open to the public.

Saturday will feature a sweatshirt giveaway and a secret seat winner. Sunday will be Abilities Day featuring Dream on 3, including two ceremonial pitches.
Storylines
- Coming off a mercy-rule victory over Georgia Southern, 11-3 (5), Georgia Tech has now won seven of its last eight games dating back to March 3.
- The run-rule triumph marked the third of the season as the Jackets also outmatch UNI, 12-2 (5), and Georgia State, 10-1 (5).
- The White and Gold won their first ACC series of the season, claiming two of three over Virginia to clinch the series on the road last weekend.
- Tech’s conference series win marked its first to open ACC play since 2020.
- The White and Gold own one ranked victory this season, pulling a walk-off upset of No. 18 Auburn, 2-1, thanks to freshman catcher Reese Hunter’s solo rocket over left center.
- Senior right hander Blake Neleman has moved into second all-time in career strikeouts with 491 to date.
- On the season, Neleman (83) and Dennis (55) have combined for 138 strikeouts.
- Senior utility player Emma Kauf is currently riding an 11-game streak of reaching base.
- Defense has gone hand in hand with work from the circle this season as the Jackets are second in the ACC and ninth in the NCAA in fielding percentage (.980).
- The Yellow Jackets have also been aggressive as a unit on the base path, ranking third in the conference and 17th in the nation in triples per game (.38) as well as fifth in the league in stolen bases per game (1.58).
- On top of marching through Tech’s record books in strikeouts, Neleman has picked up a pair of saves this season, moving up to six in her career as she’s now in an eight-way tie for third in program history in career saves.
- Amongst the nation this season, Neleman is third in the ACC in while landing 32nd in the NCAA with 83 punchouts.
- Racking up wins as of late, Dennis is now third in the ACC and 20th in the NCAA with nine victories in the circle.
- Swatting a career-high third triple on the season against Georgia Southern, Kauf is currently second in the ACC and 20th in the NCAA in triples.
- Sophomore righty Kinsey Norton has also been effective in both of her save situations this season, cashing in on both opportunities as she and Neleman are tied for fifth in the conference.
Series Notes
- Georgia Tech currently trails Virginia Tech in the all-time series by a game, 28-27.
- The Yellow Jackets won their last series opener over the Hokies, 6-4, on the road in Blacksburg, Va., in 2021.
- Despite trailing 13-12 at home, the White and Gold are 5-1 in neutral matchups.
- The Jackets also won the first two meetings, claiming a pair of one-run victories on The Flats in 1998 and 1999.
- Tech notably took five of eight contests from 2017-21, including a 2-1 series triumph in 2018.
