THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (14-9, 2-1 ACC) will follow up its first ACC series win of the season with a home midweek tilt against Georgia Southern (10-11, 0-0 SBC) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Mewborn Field.

Storylines
- Georgia Tech comes into the contest on the heels of its first conference series win, claiming two of three over Virginia through the weekend to clinch the series on the road.
- On Saturday, senior right hander Blake Neleman took sole possession of second all-time in career strikeouts with 491 to date.
- The Yellow Jackets downed the Cavaliers by a final of 5-2 in both of the first two games before dropping the finale.
- Tech’s conference series win marked its first to open ACC play since 2020.
- The White and Gold have now won 12 of the last 14 matchups against Virginia, claiming seven consecutive contests over the Hoos entering the series finale.
- Georgia Tech moved up to a six-game winning streak before the final game of the series.
- Entering the series finale, Kauf had accumulated a season-high seven-game hitting streak as she remains on a 10-game streak in reaching base.
- During the week, the White and Gold also pulled a walk-off upset of No. 18 Auburn, 2-1, thanks to freshman catcher Reese Hunter’s solo rocket over left center.
- The upset marked Tech’s first ranked win of the season, now sitting at 1-1 against No. 18 teams in the country.
- On the season, Neleman (83) and Dennis (51) have combined for 134 strikeouts.
- Defense has gone hand in hand with work from the circle this season as the Jackets are second in the ACC and sixth in the NCAA in fielding percentage (.981).
- The Yellow Jackets have also been aggressive as a unit on the base path, ranking fourth in the conference and 29th in the nation in triples per game (.35).
- On top of marching through Tech’s record books in strikeouts, Neleman has picked up a pair of saves this season, moving up to six in her career as she’s now in an eight-way tie for third in program history in career saves.
- Amongst the nation this season, Neleman is second in the ACC in while landing 27th in the NCAA with 83 punchouts.
- Racking up wins as of late, Dennis is now third in the ACC with eight victories in the circle.
- Sophomore righty Kinsey Norton has also been effective in both of her save situations this season, cashing in on both opportunities as she and Neleman are tied for fourth in the conference and rank 29th in the country.
Series Notes
- Georgia Tech currently leads Georgia Southern in the all-time series, 55-14.
- The Yellow Jackets have won each of the last seven contests, including four by mercy rule. Tech has also taken 20 of the last 21 matchups and 28 of the previous 30 meetings, including nine by run rule.
- Each of the last seven games have been played on The Flats, most recently in 2017 when the Jackets run-ruled the Eagles, 12-3 (5).
- The White and Gold own the longest win streak of the series, going undefeated for 13 games from 2004-09.
- Georgia Tech has gone 31-8 at home against the Georgia Southern, also holding a 21-6 lead at home and a 3-0 advantage in neutral contests.
