>> Georgia Tech plays at home for the final time in the 2013 regular season, hosting Georgia Tuesday night in the rubber game of the teams’ season series.
>> Tuesday’s game begins at 7:30 p.m. and can be seen live on CSS and ESPN3 with Matt Stewart and Randy Carroll, while Nolan Alexander and Wade Rogers have the call on WREK.
>> The game marks the 359th meeting in the all-time series, which is led by Georgia 199-157-2. But Tech has the upper hand of late by winning nine of the last 13 meetings, including a 7-5 victory at Foley Field in early April. The Jackets are looking for their fourth-consecutive series win over Bulldogs.
>> Georgia Tech picked up a crucial, late-season marquee series win over No. 2 North Carolina in dramatic fashion this past weekend, winning Friday and Sunday with walk-off hits — a ninth-inning homer Friday from Mott Hyde and an 11th-inning single from Zane Evans on Sunday.
>> Evans has a team-leading eight game-winning RBI this season, with six coming in Tech’s last 12 wins. Evans is hitting .365 with the ACC’s second-most homers (14) and fourth-most RBI (58).
>> Junior LF Kyle Wren, who scored the game-winner on Evans’ single in Sunday’s win over Carolina, leads the team with eight game-winning runs this season.
>> Sophomore RHP Josh Heddinger gets the call Tuesday night. He pitched six scoreless innings last year in the series-finale versus Georgia to earn the win, and the series for Tech.
