THE FLATS – Aiming to rebound from a pair of road losses in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Georgia Tech return home for its next three games, beginning Saturday when the Yellow Jackets host Pittsburgh at 3 p.m. at McCamish Pavilion.
After ending the nine-game winning streak of first-place Miami at home last Wednesday, Tech (8-8, 1-5 ACC) lost both of its subsequent games at Florida State (75-64) and Notre Dame (73-72 in overtime) and finds itself a half-game out of last place in the conference standings. The Yellow Jackets’ two home losses this season came to Clemson on Dec. 21 and Virginia on Dec. 31, both by double digits.
Pitt (11-6, 4-2 ACC) comes to Atlanta also having lost two straight games, a 77-69 decision at Duke Wednesday night and a 75-74 loss at home to first-place Clemson last Saturday. Tha Panthers had won 10 of 11 games before that, including their first four ACC games against NC State, Syracuse, North Carolina and Virginia. Pitt is 3-2 in true road games this season, and is one of five teams tied for third place in the ACC standings, two games out of first.
Saturday’s game will be televised live on the ACC Network, with a live stream available on the ESPN app. Radio coverage is on the Georgia Tech Sports Network by Legends Sports and flagship station 680 the Fan (680 AM/93.7 FM), and also on satellite radio (SiriusXM channel 136 or 194, SXM app 956.

SERIES VS. PITTSBURGH
- Georgia Tech has won the last three games in the series and five of the last six to take a 12-5 in the overall series, 7-5 since Pittsburgh joined the ACC. The Yellow Jackets won the only meeting between the two teams in 2021-22, a 68-62 decision at the Petersen Events Center.
- Tech’s 73-57 win in its final home game of the 2019-20 campaign was the widest margin of victory for either team since Pitt joined the ACC. Eight of the 10 meetings as ACC foes have been decided by eight points or less.
- The teams have played home-and-away only twice since the Panthers joined the ACC.
- Tech won the first five games in the series, prior to Pitt’s entry into the ACC, all of which took place between 1966 and 1989. The Panthers won the first three meetings after joining the conference.

TEAM TRENDS

- Tech is 1-8 this season when the opponent makes a higher percentage of its field goal attempts, 7-0 when it has a better percentage.
- Tech’s bench has outscored that of its opponent 10 times in 16 games this season, getting a season-high 37 points at Notre Dame after tallying just 17 against Miami and Florida State combined. The Jackets enter this weekend’s games No. 1 in the ACC in bench scoring (21.9 ppg).
