>> Closing in on a berth in the ACC Tournament, Georgia Tech heads to No. 1 Virginia this weekend in the Yellow Jackets’ final conference series of the regular season.
>> Tech is 6-3 in its last nine games versus No. 1-ranked teams, taking the series from Florida State earlier this year, going 1-1 at Vanderbilt in last year’s Nashville Regional, winning a series versus North Carolina last season and beating the Seminoles in the 2012 ACC Tournament.
>> The Yellow Jackets can lock up a tournament spot with one win over the Cavaliers. The 10-team ACC Tournament is May 20-25 in Greensboro, N.C.
>> Behind one of the ACC’s best middle infield duos of 2B Mott Hyde and SS Connor Justus, the Jackets lead the NCAA in double plays with 61. Tech is fielding .970 overall (.976 in ACC games), and is also tied for the NCAA in outfield assists (20).
