MISCELLANEOUS NOTES

TEAM NOTES
• Georgia Tech made its first starting lineup change of the season Monday night, inserting graduate senior forward James White into the starting five in place of Nick Jacobs. Tech had started the same five players for the first 10 games.
• Tech’s nine three-point field goals tonight was its second-most this season. The Yellow Jackets made 11 against Green Bay.
• Tech out-rebounded Southeastern Louisiana 43-29, marking eighth time in 11 games the Yellow Jackets out-rebounded their opponent (one tie at Georgia). The Jackets have a plus-10.6 rebounding advantage for the season, having come into the game 14th in the nation and second in the ACC in that category.
• Tech improved to 7-2 when leading at the half this season. Only against Villanova did the Yellow Jackets trail at intermission, and the Jackets were tied against VCU.
• Tech had just eight turnovers in the game, the fourth time this season the Jackets have stayed under 10. Nationally, the Jackets have improved from 195th in the nation last year to 60th this year.
• Tech assisted on 19 of its 27 field goals and improved its season assist average as a team to 14.7. The Jackets entered tonight’s game ranked 128th nationally in that category after finishing the 2014-15 season 244th.
• Tech pulled 15 rebounds from the offensive glass and cashed those in for 19 second-chance points, fourth-most this season. Tech is averaging 16.5 second-chance points this season compared to 12.7 in 2014-15.
• Tech went 12-for-20 from the free throw line, and is 50-for-63 (79.4 pct.) in its last three games. The Yellow Jackets improved their season success rate to 73.7 percent. After hitting 62.7 percent from the line (37-for-59) in its first three games, Tech has made 78 percent (117-for-150) in the seven games since.
• Tech won the game despite being out-shot from the floor, 45.5-43.5. Tech is 10-59 under Brian Gregory when the opponent has a higher field goal percentage.
• Tech exceeded 70 points for the fourth time in five games and for the seventh time this season. Tech scored 70 or more only six times last season. The Yellow Jackets are 7-0 this season when scoring 70 points or more, 36-12 under Brian Gregory.
• Tech has averaged 69.5 offensive possessions this season compared to 63.1 last season. Its team offensive efficiency rating is 113.1 compared to 97.2 last season.
• Tech also has made major improvements in points off turnovers (13.9 compared to 13.0 last season), second-chance points (16.5 to 12.7), points in the paint (33.3 to 32.2) and fast break points (10.5 to 8.3).
• Tech used 10 available players in the game, and nine of them scored.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Adam Smith knocked down four threes and has 15 in Tech’s last five games. Smith has made at least one in every game this season and in his last 13 straight games dating back to last season. He has made at least one in 80 of 89 games in his career for a total of 195 after tonight. Smith entered tonight’s game fourth in the ACC in three-pointers per game and sixth in percentage season.
• Smith scored a team-high 16 points and reached double figures for the ninth time this season.
James White earned his first start in a Tech uniform tonight and scored 12 points with 13 rebounds (he had six points with nine rebounds in the first half alone). It was his second double-double this season and seventh of his career. It also was his eighth career double-digit rebound game and second this season. The graduate transfer from UALR had grabbed eight rebounds in each of Tech’s last two games (31 total minutes) and had a double-double with 11 rebounds in the season opener against Cornell.
Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 14 points and matched his career high for three-point field goals with four in six attempts. He reached double figures for the 72nd time in 105 career games at Georgia Tech. It was his fourth straight double-digit game after getting 19 at Tulane, 20 against VCU and 11 at Georgia.
• Georges-Hunt remains in 25th place on Tech’s all-time scoring list, and now has 1,289 career points. He needs 14 points to reach 24th place, held by Michael Maddox (1,303).
Josh Heath dished out a season-high nine assists tonight, a career high as a collegian. His previous best was eight while at South Florida and seven on four occasions as a Yellow Jacket.
Charles Mitchell got back in the double-double column when he put back a missed shot and hit a free throw at the 4:08 mark. It was his 10th double-double in 11 games this season. He is one of five players tied for the national lead with 10. Mitchell has 17 double-doubles in a Tech uniform and 22 for his career.
• Mitchell also earned his 25th double-digit scoring game in a Tech uniform, and 41st of his career. It was Mitchell’s 29th career double-figure rebound game. He is averaging an ACC-leading 12.2 per game and ranks fifth in the nation.
• Tech’s top five scorers this season – Marcus Georges-Hunt, Charles Mitchell, Adam Smith, Nick Jacobs and Quinton Stephens – have hit a combined 78.6 percent (132-for-168) of their charity tosses this season. They went 8-for-13 against Southeastern Louisiana.
• Heath and Travis Jorgenson combined for 11 assists and two turnovers against Southeastern Louisiana, continuing a trend this season in which they have 71 assists and 21 turnovers collectively, a ratio of 3.38-1.
