THE FLATS — Georgia Tech softball returns to the Flats for the first matchup of a five game home stand on Wednesday, March 28 when it hosts Georgia State. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
Week seven recap:
The Jackets went 3-2 on last week’s road trip to California as part of the Matador Classic hosted by CSUN. Tech took wins against Pacific, Cal Poly and Santa Clara. Its 11-0 run-rule victory over Santa Clara was Tech’s fifth run-rule win of the season, surpassing the 2017 total. The win also marked the Jackets’ 19th win of the season, tying the total from last season.

Wednesday marks the 72nd meeting between the Jackets and the Panthers. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series 47-24. Georgia State took the last meeting in Panthersville earlier this season, a 5-2 come from behind victory. Sophomore Rebecca Prairie hit a two-run home run in the last meeting to score for the Jackets.

Wednesday night’s game is part of the WINSday promotions with games and prizes between every inning. The game is also the Georgia Tech faculty and staff appreciation game. The game will be followed by a home run derby by the Georgia Tech Athletic Association employees.
