Second-Annual Swarm Week a Success

Dec. 1, 2017

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech athletics’ second-annual Swarm Week was a big success with donor participation and awareness up from the inaugural Swarm Week in 2016.

Donors participating in this year’s Swarm Week, which was held from Nov. 20-25, were up 36 percent from last year’s Swarm Week. With an emphasis on expanding the Yellow Jackets’ giving base, 49 percent this year’s Swarm Week participants were new donors to Georgia Tech athletics.

In addition to giving, Georgia Tech faithful also participated in big numbers by sharing the message through digital and social media. Swarm Week content and messaging reached more than 250,000 people during the six-day span.

Those who participated in Swarm Week – be it by giving or spreading the word via social media – were eligible to win exclusive prizes from Georgia Tech athletics. Prize winners included:

Club seats for Georgia Tech-Georgia football game: Tom Koch (Marietta, Ga.)

Customized authentic Georgia Tech football jersey: Tom Hogan (Greenville, S.C.)

Autographed Georgia Tech football helmet: Nathan Camp (Cumming, Ga.)

Autographed Georgia Tech football (GT student prize): Wilson Pu

Lunch with director of athletics Todd Stansbury: Josh Axelberd (Suwanee, Ga.)

Lunch with men’s basketball head coach Josh Pastner: Andrew Smith (Marietta, Ga.)

Georgia Tech men’s basketball tickets: Christie Jarrio (Atlanta, Ga.)

1917 National Championship helmet decals: First 100 donors

Thank you to everyone who participated in Georgia Tech athletics’ second-annual Swarm Week! We look forward to continuing to enhance the brand and expand the base in 2018.
