Roberts Takes First At Bob Pollack Invite

CLEMSON, S.C. – With the fourth-fastest mark in Georgia Tech track and field history, Shawn Roberts took home first place in the 800m run at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson University, Saturday. The mark was also a personal best for Roberts.

Roberts’ time was the 17th fastest in the country this season and fourth fastest in the east region in 2012.

Adonis Gaines also set a personal best mark, but in the 1,500m run with a time of 3:59.57 for a fifth place finish.

Also competing for the Jackets was Ama Larbi who took seventh in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.70.

Some of the Jackets will be back in action on their home track when they host the Georgia Tech Last Chance Invitational on Friday and Saturday, May 11th and 12th at the George C. Griffin Track and Field Complex.
