MISCELLANEOUS NOTES •  Georgia Tech captains for #GTvsTULN: Tony Zenon, B.J. Bostic, Corey Dennis, Quayshawn Nealy • Saturday was the inaugural game at Tulane’s Yulman Stadium. • Another  stadium note for Saturday: the game featured the team from the nation’s oldest FBS stadium (Georgia Tech’s Grant Field) vs. the nation’s newest FBS stadium (Tulane’s Yulman Stadium). • Georgia Tech leads the all-time series 36-13. • Saturday was the first meeting between the charter SEC members since 1982.  • Georgia Tech is now 21-9 all-time in New Orleans and 17-7 in games played on Tulane’s campus. • Paul Johnson is now 3-2 all-time as head coach vs. Tulane (2-2 at Navy, 1-0 at Georgia Tech).   TEAM NOTES • Georgia Tech has now played 213 consecutive games without being shut out (last time shut out was Oct. 18, 1997, at No. 3 Florida State). • Quayshawn Nealy’s pick-6 in the second quarter marks the first time the Yellow Jackets returned an interception for a touchdown since Chris Milton returned aan interception 54 yards for a score against Elon on Aug. 31, 2013.  • Nealy’s touchdown was Georgia Tech’s first defensive touchdown since Nealy’s 18-yard fumble return vs. Alabama A&M on Nov. 23, 2013 • The last time Georgia Tech had three takeaways in a single game was against Elon on Aug. 31, 2013.  • This is the fifth time under head coach Paul Johnson that the Yellow Jackets have started off the season 2-0.  • This was the first time Georgia Tech recorded more than 300 yards rushing since Nov. 23, 2013 against Alabama A&M.  • Georgia Tech blocked its first punt since Chris Milton blocked a punt against Syracuse on Oct. 19, 2013.    INDIVIDUAL NOTES • With 86 rushing yards against Tulane, Zach Laskey moves into 30th on Georgia Tech all-time rushing list with 1,338 career rushing yards. • Quarterback Tim Byerly recorded his third career rushing TD. He had two rushing touchdowns in 2013.   • Linebacker Quayshawn Nealy made his 34th career start and his 11th straight.  • Nealy grabbed his seventh career interception against Tulane and ran in his third pick-six of his career. • Offensive lineman Shaq Mason recorded his 28th career start and his 27th straight.  • Adam Gotsis made his 16th start which is also his 16th straight. • During his return to his hometown, Tony Zenon recorded a career-long 41-yard run and had a career-high rushing game with 62 yards.  Zenon also doubled career rushing by scoring two touchdowns against Tulane.  • Both Demond Smith and Lawrence Austin each recorded their first career-first interceptions.  • Both KeShun Freeman and Tyler Stargell each tallied their first career career-first sacks.
