Pitchers' Duel Ends in 1– 0 Tech Loss After Late Homer

CLEMSON, S.C. – Georgia Tech softball (15-10, 3-2 ACC) came up short on Saturday afternoon after holding Clemson (16-7, 2-0 ACC) scoreless well into the seventh inning before a solo home run ended the game 1-0.

  • Tymber Harris made her third start of the season, fourth appearance, on Saturday afternoon and recorded one strikeout across her 3.0 innings pitched.
  • Harris faced nine batters and kept all nine from reaching base as she didn’t surrender a single hit or walk.
  • The sophomore was replaced by fellow under classman Sydnie Watts to start the bottom half of the fourth inning.
  • In her 11th appearance of the season, fourth relief appearance of the season, Watts was also able to keep Clemson’s offense at bay as she only allowed two Tigers to get on base but kept the score 0-0 through the fourth and fifth innings.
  • Watts was relieved by Makayla Coffield in the sixth inning after Tech made its first out of the inning.
  • Coffield faced six batters in her 1.1 innings pitched on Saturday and threw 11 strikes out of 18 total pitches.
  • Alyssa Willer now holds Tech’s longest active safely reached streak after reaching in each of the last 11 games, just two games shy from tying her longest safely reached streak of the season of 13 games. Out of 25 games played this season, Willer has safely reached in 24 games, the most of any Yellow Jacket.
  • The last time Tech fell 1-0 was in 10 innings against Kennesaw State during the 2018 season.
