THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball head coach Aileen Morales signed Palmer Pinholster to a National Letter of Intent during the spring signing period, totaling five newcomers to the 2018-19 roster.
Palmer Pinholster (McDonough, Ga./Eagles Landing Christian Academy)
Palmer Pinholster joins the Yellow Jackets from McDonough, Ga. A right-handed pitcher, she lettered for four seasons under head coach Doug Campbell at Eagles Landing Christian Academy. She served as captain for two. She was a member of the 2014 and 2015 state championship teams. In 2016 and 2017, Pinholster was tabbed to first team all-state for softball and dubbed all-region in in 2014-17. She was named the Henry County Pitcher of the year in 2016 and Player of the Year in 2017. Following the 2017 season, she competed in the state all-star game. Her sister, Parker Pinholster currently plays softball at Auburn University at Montgomery.
Morales on Pinholster: “Palmer is a fierce competitor and has a great presence in the circle. We are excited to add her energy to our pitching staff and our team in 2019.”
Pinholster joins the four incoming freshman who inked during the fall signing period, a group that includes Madalyn Billings (Woodstock, Ga./Etowah High School), Ariella Jackson (Pikesville, Md./Pikesville Senior High School), Hannah Turnbull (Atlanta, Ga./Parkview High School), and Bailee Zeitler (Canton, Ga./Sequoyah High School).
