No. 6 Women’s Tennis Welcomes No. 31 Miami Wednesday

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech women’s team will look to return to winning ways on Wednesday against Miami in an ACC mid-week matchup at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.

THE SCENE: After taking a brief break from league play, the Jackets return to ACC competition on Wednesday carrying a 9-2 overall record and 3-0 ledger in ACC contests. Tech opened ACC play at home in early March, defeating both Virginia and Louisville. Freshman Ida Jarlskog leads the Jackets with a 15-6 overall record on the season, while Kenya Jones and Johnnise Renaud are 3-0 in league play on the young season.

Miami has won five consecutive matches and owns a 7-3 overall record to go along with a 3-0 ACC mark after upsetting then-No. 16 Florida State. The Hurricanes have also picked up wins over Clemson and Pitt in conference play. Miami’s Estela Perez-Somarriba remains undefeated in the dual season, owning a 12-0 record, including a 3-0 mark in league matches. The sophomore is 9-0 at the No. 1 seed.

ITA RANKINGS: Tech dropped one spot in the latest ITA rankings released Tuesday and sits at No. 6 in the nation. Miami comes in at No. 31 after being ranked No. 42 last week. Below are the individual rankings, which were released March 6:
