TOP STORYLINES

• No. 6 Georgia Tech baseball looks to remain hot at home as it hosts Wake Forest on March 18-20 in its second ACC series of the season at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.

• Georgia Tech currently owns a 77-45-1 record all-time against the Demon Deacs, including 72-39-1 since GT joined the ACC in 1980.

• The Jackets took two-of-three last season in Winston-Salem, N.C., winning 3-1 and 8-1 to close it out.

• The 6th-ranked Jackets have proved to be every bit of the offensive powerhouse they were touted to be in the preseason. Through 17 games, Tech nationally ranks fifth with 32 home runs, fifth with 202 hits, and eighth with 165 runs.

• Georgia Tech also ranks ninth in walks (103), 10th in batting average (.326) and ninth in on-base percentage (.436).

• Chandler Simpson has been the spark plug for Tech, ranking 15th in the nation in hits (31) and 10th in runs (24). He’s batting .468 on the year with a .564 OBP.

• Kevin Parada has also been unstoppable at the plate, currently ranking No. 7 in the country in hits (31), eighth in home runs (8), fifth in RBI (30) and fifth in total bases (61). He’s hitting .437 with a .535 OBP and just six strikeouts in 71 at-bats.

• Also red-hot at the plate are Drew Compton (.348), Tres Gonzalez (.339), Andrew Jenkins (.338), and Tim Borden II (.317)

• Starters for Georgia Tech have been consistent as well as Chance Huff leads with a 3.38 ERA and Zach Maxwell and Aeden Finateri holds a 4.50 ERA. Marquis Grissom, Jr. has also lowered his ERA to 5.14 over his last couple outings.

• Currently six relief pitchers sport an ERA south of 4.00.
