THE FLATS – A duo of arms headlined the Nissan #ProJackets Baseball report this week, as both Jacob Esch and Jed Bradley were called up to “The Show” for the first time in their professional careers this past week.
Called up to the Miami Marlins on Aug. 31, Esch made his MLB debut that very night versus the New York Mets. Esch went 4.1 innings in his debut, allowing two runs on seven hits and three walks, while striking out two Mets’ batters.
Bradley, who made the move up from Double-A to Triple-A just on Aug. 20, was called up to the Atlanta Braves on Sept. 1. Since being traded to the Braves for cash back on June 2, Bradley has posted a 2.17 ERA with 88 strikeouts, 34 walks and a WHIP of 1.29 over 83.0 innings of work.
Also this week, Daniel Palka was named to the Southern League Postseason All-Start Team. This season, Palka has hit .262 with 34 home runs, 24 doubles, 90 RBIs, 72 runs scored in 128 games. He has recorded nine stolen bases and 261 total bases on the year.
