THE FLATS — With most of the minor league baseball seasons already over or coming to a close this week, the month of September will be headlined by a number of major league #ProJackets looking to help lead their teams to a postseason berth over the final four weeks of the regular season.
Entering today’s games (Sept. 6), Charlie Blackmon and the Colorado Rockies are in the second National League Wild Card spot, but just 2.5 games ahead of Milwaukee. Blackmon still leads the NL in hitting at .339, runs with 122, hits with 189, triples with 14 and total bases with 345. He also ranks in the top five in the National League in home runs with 33 long balls.
Over his last 10 games, Blackmon has hit .375 (15-for-40) with three home runs, a double, five walks, six RBIs and six runs scored.
Check out this MLB Network interview with Blackmon.

Derek Dietrich and the Miami Marlins are on the outside looking in, as the Marlins are a full seven games back of the second wild card spot. Dietrich has hit safely in four of his last five games, which included a three-run home run versus Philadelphia on Sept. 2.
With the Washington Nationals out in front in the NL East, Matt Wieters and the division leaders will look to get healthy over the next three weeks to be full strength heading into postseason play.
Despite missing some time due to an injury, Wieters has hit .290 with three RBIs and five runs scored over his last 10 contests.
The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Blake Wood are right in the thick of the American League Wild Card race, as LAA is only 2.5 games back of the New York Yankees for the first wild card spot and just 0.5 games in front of the Minnesota Twins for the second slot.
Since joining the Angels on Aug. 25, Wood has gone 1-0 over eight innings in six appearances out of the bullpen.
Righty Buck Farmer is looking to finish his season out strong, as the Detroit Tigers are out of the race and have made it clear that they are looking forward to the future with the trading of a number of players over the last few weeks.
