THE FLATS — The #ProJackets continue to make an impact for their respective teams this season both at the plate and on the mound across not just the Major League’s but also in the farm systems of a number of MLB organizations.
Catcher Matt Wieters has stayed hot since signing with the Washington Nationals, as he went 4-for-11 with a home run, a double and two RBIs in the series with the St. Louis Cardinals (April 10-12). Back in Atlanta on Tuesday night (April 18), Wieters went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored to help lead the Nationals to the win.
Over the last 10 games, Charlie Blackmon has hit three home runs and recorded seven RBIs for the Colorado Rockies. Blackmon, who has hit safely in each of the last five games, has also registered two doubles and a triple over the last 10 contests.
After going just 1-for-12 with an RBI in the series with the New York Mets on April 13-16, Derek Dietrich got back on the right track last night (April 18) versus the Seattle Mariners going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Blake Wood continues to be a work horse out of the bullpen for the Cincinnati Reds, as the reliever has appeared in eight games this season. After blowing a save and picking up his first loss of the season to the Brewers on April 14, Wood has bounced back to strikeout four batters over 2.1 innings of work in each of his last two outings.
