>> Georgia Tech and NC State meet this weekend in Raleigh in a key inter-division series as a jumbled Atlantic Coast Conference race hits its stretch run.
>> The Yellow Jackets sit 11-10 in the ACC, all alone in fourth-place in the Coastal and seventh-place overall, but are just two games back of fifth and 2.5 games back of fourth-place Clemson.
>> Tech sits No. 31 in the latest RPI release by Warren Nolan, having played the nation’s sixth-toughest schedule (toughest in the ACC). The Jackets are 8-8 versus the RPI Top 50, with series wins over Florida State (No. 2), Miami (No. 26) and UNC (No. 41).
>> Sophomore LF Matt Gonzalez enters the weekend seventh in the ACC in hitting (.329), second in hits (55) and tied for the league lead in doubles (15). He’s also tied for the NCAA lead in outfield assists (eight).
>> Saturday starter Devin Stanton ranks 18th in the ACC in ERA (2.68) and is 3-2 in his first year as a starting pitcher. The redshirt junior lefty has received just one run of support over his last two road starts.
