Kauf Lands on ACC All-Tournament Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech softball standout Emma Kauf has been selected to the 2023 ACC All-Tournament Team, the league office announced on Saturday. The honorary team is comprised of 11 top performers from tournament play, including the tournament MVP.

Kauf’s first career honor marks the fourth consecutive season a Yellow Jacket has been represented in the conference’s annual tournament recognition dating back to 2019 under coach Aileen Morales.

The recent All-ACC Second Team honoree was steady throughout Tech’s tournament run, batting .500 as she finished 4-for-8 with a pair of doubles and RBI. In the opening 8-1 rout of host and No. 7 seed Notre Dame, Kauf finished 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. In the second round against No. 6 Duke, Kauf torched the second-seeded Blue Devils as she went 2-for-3 with her 50th career double, a mark that remains second in program history. Kauf slugged .750 with a .556 on-base percentage through the tournament overall.

The decorated backstop adds an all-tournament nod to her three regular season All-ACC honors throughout her career. On top of her second team selection this year, Kauf was also voted All-ACC First Team in each of the previous two seasons.

Living up to her lofty expectations as a preseason top-10 catcher and top-100 player by D1Softball (No. 8/85) and Extra Inning Softball (No. 10/81), Kauf is amongst the top of the conference as she ranks third in the ACC in triples per game with four on the season.

The steady presence has led the Jacket bats in nearly every category through the year, fronting the squad by batting .354 with 56 hits, 14 doubles and four triples while slugging .627 with a .446 on-base percentage. Kauf has also gone yard seven times this season to rack up 33 RBI. Kauf’s team-best tears this season include a seven-game hitting streak and a 13-game stretch of reaching base.
