THE FLATS Georgia Tech baseball batted around the order in three-straight innings to dispel Georgia State, 23-8, on Tuesday night at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets (21-16) had every starter score a run or drive in a run in an offensive onslaught that included 21 hits and nine extra-base hits. Meanwhile, the Panthers (18-19) struck out 17 times, including five-straight at one point.

At the plate, Jackson Finley fell a triple shy of the cycle, launching a 441-foot home run and a double for five RBI. Jadyn Jackson also raked two doubles for three RBI, while Angelo Dispigna, Jett Lovett and Tyler Minnick all finished with two hits and two RBI on the night. Kristian Campbell also continued the hit parade, recording two hits and a solo home run.

Campbell extended his hit streak to 21 games, tying J.J. Thomas (1996) for the 11th-longest hitting streak in program history.

On the mound, RHP Ben King made his second start of the season, pitching 2.0 inning scoreless on the staff day and punching out four in the process. LHP Camron Hill (1-0) then struck out three more in 2.0 no-hit innings to get his first win of the season. RHP Demitri Diamant, LHP Cody Carwile, LHP Noah Samol and LHP Joseph Mannelly then covered the rest of the innings to close.

Carwile gave up a solo home run, but then retired the next six hitters, striking out five of them to finish with six K’s on the night.

Georgia State was led by Taylor Shultz, who had a double and home run for three RBI. RHP Brian Garmon (1-1) received the loss, allowing one run on one hit in 2.1 innings.

Georgia Tech finishes up its back-to-back ACC swing at No. 17 Miami this weekend. First pitch on Friday, April 21 is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
