THE BASICS:
· Georgia Tech scored 10 of the game’s final 11 runs, including six in the eighth, to rally for an 11-9 victory over Presbyterian on Saturday to sweep a doubleheader at Russ Chandler Stadium.
· Tech won Saturday’s first game 5-1.
· The Yellow Jackets improved to 28-17 overall, while the Blue Hose fell to 23-23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Tech trailed 2-0 after the first inning and 8-0 after the top of the second, before a solo home run from A.J. Murray in the second put the Jackets on the board and made it 8-1.
· Brandon Gold’s two-run triple that bounced off the top of the wall in center highlighted a three-run fifth inning for Tech, and an RBI single from Ryan Peurifoy pulled the hosts within 8-5.
· Presbyterian made it 9-5 in the top of eighth.
· The home half of the eighth inning would prove to be the difference as Tech sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring six times on five hits to grab the lead for good.
· Blake Jackson’s two-run single to right made it 9-7 and the next batter, Wade Bailey, ripped an RBI single up the middle to make it 9-8.
· Grant Wruble’s infield single loaded the bases with one out and Matt Gonzalez drew a game-tying walk.
· Murray, who triggered Tech’s scoring with his second-inning homer, sent a fly ball to left for a sacrifice fly that gave Tech the lead.
· Wruble eventually scampered home on a steal of third and an error for insurance.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· Of Tech’s 28 wins this season, 16 have been come-from-behind wins, thanks in part to a 71-32 advantage in runs in the eighth inning and beyond.
· Ben Parr tossed four innings in relief of Cole Pitts and allowed four hits and two runs (one earned).
· Daniel Gooden gave the Jackets a career-long two innings of relief with three strikeouts and Zac Ryan pitched the final two scoreless innings and earned his eighth win (8-1).
· Ryan is the ACC’s only pitcher with seven or more saves and seven or more wins.
· Wruble, Gonzalez, Murray, Peurifoy and Gold each had two of Tech’s 14 hits. · Gonzalez extended his hitting streak to eight games, while Peurifoy stretched his to five.
· Six of Murray’s team-leading 11 home runs have come over Tech’s last 14 games.
· Presbyterian’s Cam McCrae made it 2-0 in the first thanks to a two-homer, and the Blue Hose followed with two more home runs from Peter Johnson and Brandon Martin during their six-run inning in the second.
· The loss fell to reliever Hayden Deal (2-3), who allowed four runs on two hits.

QUOTABLE:
“We really put ourselves in a big hole, but my message was still have a long way to go, so let’s just keep playing each inning and we kept getting closer. I thought Gold’s triple was a key for us to get them within striking distance. We just kept chipping away, and our guys from the bullpen did a great job in keeping us in the game, and we finally found a way to get the lead in the eighth. I’m proud of Blake (Jackson). He hasn’t had a lot of at bats yet, but you can tell he’s going to be a very good hitter. He had a great four-hole hit to knock in a couple today. He’s worked hard and it’s great to see him come through.”
–Head Coach Danny Hall

UP NEXT: The Yellow Jackets and Blue Hose conclude the three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m.
