Game Preview: Jackets meeting CSU Bakersfield for first time Tuesday night in NIT semifinals | NIT Bracket
New York, N.Y. – All four teams in the National Invitation Tournament spent their first full day in New York City on Monday, each practicing off-site while their head coaches and selected players participated in the official NIT media availability at the Marriott Marquis.
Georgia Tech spent a couple of hours after breakfast Monday morning working with academic services coordinator Whitney Burton in study hall on the team’s hotel meeting room. Coach Josh Pastner, senior forward Quinton Stephens, junior center Ben Lammers and freshman guard Josh Okogie participated in the NIT press conference in the hotel’s Broadway Lounge. The Jackets then bussed to the New York Athletic Club for practice in the afternoon before participating on the official NIT Welcome Dinner for the teams at the Marquis.
The Yellow Jackets face CSU-Bakersfield (25-9) one of Tuesday’s semifinal games at Madison Square Garden. Game tips at 7 p.m., and will be televised on ESPN. TCU (22-15) will play Central Florida (24-11) in the other semifinal at 9 p.m. Tuesday. The championship game is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday. Both semifinal games and the championship will be televised on ESPN.
