Jackets Host College of Charleston Friday through Sunday

Georgia Tech (48-16), champions of the NCAA Atlanta Regional, will host Lexington Regional champion College of Charleston (46-15) in the NCAA Atlanta Super Regional, Friday through Sunday at Russ Chandler Stadium on the Tech campus. Game times, as set by the NCAA, are 12 noon ET on Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The winner of the best-of-three series will advance to the College World Series, which begins June 16 in Omaha, Neb.

All Super Regional games are nationally televised. Friday’s game will air on ESPN, Saturday’s game on ESPNU, and Sunday’s game on ESPN or ESPNU. Radio coverage for all Georgia Tech games is available on WREK 91.1 FM.

Tournament books, including tickets for all three sessions, are on sale now, on-line at www.ramblinwreck.com, or at the Georgia Tech Ticket Office (1.888.TECH.TIX).

Tournament books are priced at $36 for a reserved chairback seat, $30 for a reserved bench seat between first and third base, and $24 for general admission. Single-game tickets (if available) can be purchased only on the day of the game and will be priced at $12 for a reserved chairback seat, $10 for a reserved bench seat between first and third base, $8 for a general admission bleacher seat, and $7 for a general admission student/youth ticket.

Tech’s Russ Chandler Stadium, which was rebuilt in 2002 and now seats 4,157, is hosting an NCAA Super Regional for the third straight year and the fifth time overall, following 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2005. The Jackets have also hosted eight NCAA regionals, for a total of 11 NCAA events. Tech is seeking its third trip to the College World Series, following berths in 1994 and 2002.

Tech, the No. 8 national seed, advanced by defeating Stetson and then Vanderbilt twice in the Atlanta Regional, clinching the championship with a 8-4 victory over the Commodores Sunday night. College of Charleston, which won the Southern Conference Tournament, clinched the Lexington Regional with a win over host Kentucky Sunday.

Tickets ordered on-line or by phone can picked up at the Russ Chandler Stadium Will Call (Gate 3, Third Base Side) beginning 90 minutes prior to the first game. Season ticket holders who preordered Super Regional tickets can also pick those up in advance at the Georgia Tech Ticket Office (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).

Single-game tickets for Friday and Saturday, if available, will go on sale Friday at the Russ Chandler Stadium ticket booth (cash only), beginning at 10:30 a.m.
