Hodges Named ACC Baseball Player of the Week

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech third baseman Wes Hodges was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week after hitting .526 (10-for-19) with a home run and nine RBIs in four games away from home against Clemson and Georgia last week.

The sophomore led Georgia Tech to its first series win at Clemson since the 1993 season, and he had at least two hits in all four games.

In three games at Clemson, Hodges hit .500 (7-for-14) with five RBIs. The Ooltewah, Tenn., native had three hits in the series opener on Friday night and added a pair of hits on Saturday. On Sunday, he had two hits and drove in three runs in Georgia Tech’s 6-4 win.

Earlier in the week at Turner Field, Hodges had three hits, including a grand slam, against Georgia. For the week, he posted a .684 slugging percentage and a .571 on base percentage.

Hodges leads Georgia Tech with a .423 average in 2005.
