LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will be on the road this weekend, as it faces Louisville and No. 45 Notre Dame.
“We have a tough weekend on the road against two conference foes – Louisville and Notre Dame,” head coach Rodney Harmon said. “We will need to play well to have a successful weekend.”
Last weekend, the Jackets fell to Virginia Tech on Friday in Blacksburg by a score of 4-3, but were able to rebound with a 4-3 victory at then-No. 12 Virginia on Sunday in Charlottesville. Paige Hourigan led the way for the Jackets, going 2-0 in singles as well as 2-0 in doubles play. The highlight of her weekend came on Sunday, when she defeated then-No. 16 Julia Elbaba (6-1, 6-1). Hourigan jumped from No. 105 to No. 37 in the ITA singles rankings as a result.
Friday’s match against Louisville will begin at 3 p.m., and Sunday’s match against Notre Dame will begin at 12 p.m.

Facing Ranked Opponents
The Yellow Jackets are 8-6 when facing ranked opponents so far this season, with their most recent matchup resulting in a win at then-No. 12 Virginia. Five of the six losses were to top-25 teams.
Doubles Point
The Yellow Jackets have won the doubles point in 13 matches this season and are 12-1 when taking the first point of the match. Tech’s only loss after taking the doubles point came last Friday, when the Jackets fell at Virginia Tech by a score of 4-3.
