Jan. 16, 2012

Greensboro, N.C. – Georgia Tech women’s basketball senior center Sasha Goodlett earned her second Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week award this season after averaging a double-double in a 2-1 week for the Yellow Jackets.

Goodlett also earned ACC Co-Player of the Week accolades December 26 after leading Tech to a 2-0 record in the Bahamas Sunshine Shootout where she was named tournament MVP.

For the week, the Bolton, Miss., native led the Yellow Jackets with 21.3 points per game and 10.7 rebounds an outing.

Sasha Goodlett is having as good of a season as any post player in the ACC, and is very deserving of ACC Player of the Week honors,” head coach MaChelle Joseph said. “We are very proud of her and this award is a great compliment to Sasha and our program.”

In a loss to No. 13 Miami, Goodlett was 7-of-11 from the field and finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year. She also tied her career-high with four assists against the Hurricanes.

In a 71-67 over Wake Forest, Goodlett tallied 19 points, six rebounds and a game-high three blocks. In the week’s finale at Boston College, she finished with game- and career-highs of 26 points and 16 rebounds. She was 10-of-11 from the free throw line and had notched her fifth double-double of the year by halftime. Her 16 rebounds against the Eagles are the most by a Yellow Jacket this season.
