Georgia Tech Women's Basketball Preseason Diary -- Oct. 26

Oct. 26, 2005

by Daphne Mitchell

This week has been a little on the stressful side for me. I have so many test coming up and trying to manage the time to study for them has been real tough. It has had me a little distracted in practice up until today… Today’s practice was so enthusiastic. Coach Jo started practice by showing us about ten clips of yesterday’s practice and the good plays we made because she felt that we all thought we had taken a step backwards in getting better. I think it really helped to start practice on a positive note. The freshmen brought so much energy and the rest of the team followed their lead. When I tell ya if anyone walked by the gym door they’d think we were acting up. The gym was filled with yells and screams of encouragement. It felt so good to just let go of whatever it was that was that was bothering you that day and release steam in a positive way. There is no better feeling then words of encouragement from your teammates.

After practice coach gaves us the schedule for the rest of the week and next week. This weekend is full of fun events. We get to spend quality time with possible future teammates while also spending time with those who are already a part of our Georgia Tech Women’s basketball family!

When I say we continue to get better each day and anybody that doesn’t believe in us can get outta here. And each day every player continues to improve. As each day passes, anticipation of the season builds and I can hardly wait for the rest of the world to see what the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have in store for our opponents.

*This is the fourth of several “entries” this season describing the team’s events leading up to the first game of the season. Keep coming back to ramblinwreck.com to see what the Yellow Jackets are up to this fall!
