Georgia Tech #SummerJackets Report

THE FLATS – With the month of July off to a hot start, a number of current Yellow Jackets continue to have sizzling summers on the baseball diamond in the wooden bat leagues this season.

Utility player Tristin English is hitting .338 with four home runs, four doubles, 15 RBIs, 11 runs and five stolen bases scored over 19 games played for the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod League, while left-handed pitcher Brant Hurter has allowed just four runs and struck out 23 batters over just 19.0 innings of work on the mound for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

For the Bourne Braves, outfielder Chase Murray is hitting .314 with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, 11 RBIs, 15 runs and two stolen bases, while fellow Jacket Oscar Serratos is right behind him with an average of .306 with three doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored.

In the Coastal Plain League, right-handed pitcher Jonathan Hughes is 2-0 with a save and a 1.88 ERA over five games this summer for the Florence RedWolves, while infielder Paxton Rigby is hitting .320 with 16 total hits and five RBIs over 19 games for the Seminole County Scorpions in the Florida Collegiate Summer League.

Rising sophomore Baron Radcliff is hitting .260 with 25 hits and 18 RBIs over 26 games for the Kalamazoo Growlers in the Northwoods League, while in the Sunbelt League Keyton Gibson (Brookhaven Bucks), Kel Johnson (Norcross Astros) and Nick Wilhite (Norcross Astros) all earned a spot on the all-star team.
