Georgia Tech #ProJackets Baseball Report

May 1, 2018

THE FLATS — Just a month until the 2018-19 baseball season, a number of ProJackets are off to a great start, while another Yellow Jacket made his Major Leauge debut this season.

Called up in late April, Daniel Palka made his debut on April 25th for the Chicago White Sox and has played well, hitting .400 with one home run, one triple, two doubles and six RBIs over four games.

Veteran Charlie Blackmon has picked up where he left off last season, as 2017-18 National League Batting Champion is again at the top of the league again this season with nine home runs, 27 hits, 22 runs and 17 RBIs.

Catcher Matt Wieters has regained his all-star form after missing some time early in the season due to an injury, while pitcher Blake Wood is on the 10-day disabled list after a 1-0 start to the season.

After making his Major League debut on the 25-man opening day roster with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, pitcher Luke Bard was designated for assignment on April 27 and returned to the Minnesota Twins organization.

Below is a complete list of Tech #ProJackets playing rofessionally this season.
