Georgia Tech #ProJackets Baseball Report

THE FLATS — With just one month left in the MLB regular season, only one #ProJacket in Charlie Blackmon has his team fighting for a playoff spot, while the other Georgia Tech baseball major league #ProJackets are looking to help close their season’s out on a high note.

Blackmon, whose Colorado Rockies team is tied for first-place in the National League West with the Arizona Diamondbacks, has returned to his all-star form over his last seven games as he is hitting .357 with 10 hits, a home run, three RBIs, seven runs scored and two stolen bases.

Fellow #ProJacket Derek Dietrich has posted a career-high 119 base hits this season as an everyday starter for the Miami Marlins, while rookie Daniel Palka is sitting on 19 home runs and is looking to become just the fourth #ProJacket to blast 20 home runs in the first full MLB season joining Mark Teixeira, Nomar Garciaparra and Jason Varitek.

On the mound, Buck Farmer has enjoyed his full season in the big leagues with 54 strikeouts over 58.1 innings of work out of the bullpen for the Detroit Tigers, while Deck McGuire‘s up-and-down season continues with a trip back to Triple-A within the Los Angeles Angels organization.

Below is a complete list of Tech #ProJackets playing professionally this season.
