Georgia Tech #ProJackets Baseball Report

THE FLATS — While our last Georgia Tech #ProJackets Baseball Report was highlighted by the return of Brandon Cumpton to the Major Leagues, his first appearance in “The Show” since 2014, this week, National League All-Star Charlie Blackmon picked up his 1,000th MLB career hit.

Fellow #ProJacket outfielder Derek Dietrich is once again swinging a hot bat, as he is hitting .360 over his last seven games and has posted a career-high 109 base hits thus far this season.

In the minor leagues, Joey Bart is hitting .331 with nine home runs, 12 doubles and 28 RBIs in just 31 games in his young professional career, while fellow #ProJacket Brandon Gold is 9-6 with 96 strikeouts in 23 starts for the Lancaster JetHawks in the California League.

Fellow right-handed pitcher Dusty Isaacs is 4-2 with 55 strikeouts over 48.2 innings pitched on the season with both the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Buffalo Bisons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, while Matthew Gorst is 3-3 with a 0.84 ERA over 32 appearances on the year and has moved up to the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A).
