THE FLATS — With the 2018-19 Major League Baseball season kicking off last week, the Yellow Jackets had a total of six #ProJackets on an MLB Opening Day roster in Luke Bard, Charlie Blackmon, Derek Dietrich, Buck Farmer, Matt Wieters and Blake Wood.
Bard made his MLB debut on March 31 versus the Oakland A’s striking out two over one inning of action.
Bard’s First Career MLB Strikeout
Not to be outdone, Farmer struck out the side in his first outing out of the bullpen for the Detroit Tigers on April 1, his lone outing thus far this season, while Wood has yet to allow a run over 3.2 innings of work in four games out of the bullpen for the Angels.

Blackmon has picked up where he left off last season, as the defending National League Batting Champion is hitting .316 (6-for-19) with four home runs, two doubles and six RBIs over his first five games this season.
Dietrich has moved to the outfield for the Marlins this season and is hitting .286 on the season with one home run, a triple and three RBIs. Wieters is on the disabled list after playing in the first two games of the season for the Washington Nationals.
