>> Georgia Tech enters the final two weeks of its regular-season schedule this week, and the Yellow Jackets head to Ohio State for a two-game midweek series versus the Buckeyes before returning home to host ACC-leading North Carolina this weekend.
>> The two-game series begins Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. in game that can be seen on the Big Ten Network with Eric Collins and John Cangelosi. Nolan Alexander and Wade Rogers have the call of both games at OSU on WREK.
>> The Jackets are playing in the state of Ohio for the first time in the 116 seasons of the program. All-time, Tech is 14-6-1 versus Ohio State and took two of three last season in Atlanta.
>> Tech head coach Danny Hall grew up in Ohio, played at Miami-Ohio and began his head-coaching career at Kent State, where he coached current Ohio State skipper Greg Beals.
>> Junior C/RHP Zane Evans brings a nine-game hitting streak into the series and included in the streak is a 6-for-6, two-homer, four-RBI performance last Saturday at Clemson. Evans is hitting .364 this season to rank ninth in the ACC.
>> Tech has four players among the ACC’s top 10 in hitting, led by senior CF Brandon Thomas at .379 (fourth). Daniel Palka (14) and Evans (13) lead the league in homers and slugging. Kyle Wren is second in the ACC in steals (24) and paces the league with a .400 average in conference play.
>> Junior RF Daniel Palka is coming off a two-homer game versus Coastal Carolina and the ACC homer leader has swatted six over Tech’s last nine game.
