(Atlanta-AP) – Alvin Jones scored 21 points to lead five Georgia Tech players in double figures tonight, and the Yellow Jackets went on to beat Charleston Southern 85-to-62.
Tony Akins had 15 points — including 13 in the first half — Jon Babul added 12, Shaun Fein had 11 and Marvin Lewis had 10 for Georgia Tech (2-0).
Gene Granger led Charleston Southern (0-2) with 13 points. James Seegars added 10.
Georgia Tech jumped out to a 12-nothing lead as Charleston Southern missed its first seven shots and went scoreless until Nick Mitchell hit a pair of free throws 6:17 into the game.
