ATLANTA – Georgia Tech is ranked No. 1 in Monday’s Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll. The Yellow Jackets are 21-4 and stand in first place in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a 11-1 league mark after winning two of three games at Miami over the weekend.
Tech had a ACC-record 25 game league winning streak snapped on Friday night, but the Yellow Jackets rebounded two win the next two games of the series. Tech has won 27 of its last 28 ACC games, and the Yellow Jackets have won 11 straight ACC weeekend series. The Jackets are 18-2 in their last 20 ACC road games, and have won seven straight ACC road series.
The Yellow Jackets are ranked No. 1 for the 10th time in school history, including five times in 12 years under head coach Danny Hall. Tech was last ranked No. 1 for the first six weeks of the 2003 season.
Georgia Tech hosts Western Carolina on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before hosting Maryland for a three-game ACC series this weekend at Russ Chandler Stadium.
