Forrester, Lamprecht Named to All-ACC Academic Golf Team

Greensboro, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Bartley Forrester and Christo Lamprecht have been named to the 2021-22 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Golf Team, announced Thursday by the conference office.

Forrester, a junior from Gainesville, Ga., and Lamprecht, a sophomore from George, South Africa, both major in business administration and made the ACC All-Academic team for the first time. Forrester, who has made the Dean’s List three times and earned Faculty Honors twice, posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in the fall and a 3.07 in the spring and carries a career GPA of 3.37. Lamprecht, a two-time Dean’s List honoree, posted a 3.75 GPA each semester and carries a career mark of 3.56.

Forrester and Lamprecht also made the All-ACC golf team this spring and were named honorable mention All-Americans by the Golf Coaches Association of America, leading the Yellow Jackets to five tournament victories, a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Championship and a final national ranking of No. 10 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index and No. 11 in Golfstat.

Lamprecht finished the spring ranked No. 27 nationally by both polls, the highest ranking of any Tech player, while Forrester finished No. 69 by Golfstat and No. 81 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index. Lamprecht posted six top-10 finishes in 12 tournaments, and Forrester had four, including a victory at The Calusa Cup.

For the second straight year, Clemson’s Jacob Bridgman was named the ACC Men’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Ten of the 15 players who earned All-ACC honors this spring also earned spots on the academic honors team.

The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award was established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Five Yellow Jackets have earned that honor – Cameron Tringale (2009), James White (2011, 2012), Ollie Schniederjans (2014) and Anders Albertson (2015).

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
